CLARITY
Privacy Policy
How Clarity handles your information.
Updated September 29, 2026
Clarity is operated by Boden Vrooman. This policy covers the Clarity iPhone app and DownloadClarity.app. Questions or requests: teamclarity.app.support@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Account information: your account identifier, sign-in email or Apple relay address, and name you provide, to authenticate you, sync your account, and provide support. Sign-in providers handle their own authentication.
- Content you save: tasks, routines, notes, Network entries, journal entries, goals, chat messages, transcripts, and related settings. Supported account data syncs through Supabase; the app also keeps a local copy.
- Audio, images, and files: recordings and progress photos can remain on your device. Content you choose for AI analysis or transcription is sent to the processing services below. Original recording files are not a permanent cloud audio library.
- Optional integrations: with your permission, calendar events and selected Apple Health workout information support scheduling and running history. Imported information you save can become part of your account data. You can revoke iOS permissions in Settings. Clarity does not use Apple Health data for advertising.
- Operational information: request counts, processing status, usage estimates, errors, and infrastructure logs help secure and operate the service. We do not need your entire device address book to use the app.
AI and transcription
Relevant messages, tasks, notes, transcripts, and files or images you submit may be processed by xAI for AI responses and summaries. Audio submitted for cloud transcription passes through Supabase to AssemblyAI. Apple Speech may provide dictation or fallback transcription; on-device availability depends on your device and language.
These services process content under their applicable terms and retention practices. Do not submit information you do not have permission to share. AI can make mistakes; check suggested changes before accepting them. You can use manual tasks and notes without requesting AI processing. Available permission controls depend on your app version.
Storage, retention, and deletion
We retain account content while your account is active, unless you remove it. Temporary transcription uploads are removed after processing when possible. An hourly cleanup also removes remaining temporary uploads and transcription jobs older than seven days. Failed cleanup is retried, so a service interruption can delay removal. This cleanup does not delete original recordings saved on your iPhone. Provider logs and backups may persist under their retention policies. We do not promise immediate erasure from every backup or third-party system.
You can export supported information from Settings → Privacy & data and request deletion through Settings → Account access → Delete account. See account deletion instructions. Copies you export, save to Apple Calendar, or keep on another device must also be managed there. Contact us if you cannot access your account or need help removing data. We may retain limited information when needed for legal obligations, fraud prevention, or resolving a dispute.
Who receives information
Supabase provides account authentication, database storage, and backend services. The AI providers above process the content needed for requested features. Apple supports iPhone services and sign-in; Google handles Google sign-in when available. Hosting, security, and email providers may process website requests or support messages. We may disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service. Clarity does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.
Website cookies and local storage
The marketing website does not run advertising or optional analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may use essential cookies and request logs. Your browser also contacts Google Fonts to load website fonts. External websites and sign-in services have their own cookie policies. The native app uses local storage and iOS Keychain for preferences, saved content, and secure sign-in; this is different from website tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete content, revoke device permissions, export supported data, and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, obtain a copy of your data, or complain to a privacy regulator. Email us to exercise your rights; we may verify account ownership before acting. Service providers may process information outside your country. No storage or transfer system is completely secure.
Age and changes
Clarity is intended for adults 18 and older. If you believe a minor has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange deletion. We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice where required.
